First Single Arrives From 'Eclectic' New LINKIN PARK Album
August 3, 2010LINKIN PARK released "The Catalyst", the first single from its upcoming album "A Thousand Suns", worldwide on Monday (August 2). The song has a very different sound from previous LINKIN PARK tracks and guitarist Brad Delson told The Pulse of Radio that it sets the tone for the rest of the record. "'A Thousand Suns' is definitely a diverse and eclectic record, and at the same time it has a cohesive sound. And we did think that 'The Catalyst' would be a good first representation of the album. It's very different from anything we've done before, and it's just a journey."
"A Thousand Suns" follows up 2007's "Minutes To Midnight" and is due out on September 14.
"The Catalyst" is also streaming at the band's MySpace page, where fans have gotten an opportunity to collaborate with LINKIN PARK on their own versions of the song.
Electronic Arts Inc. last week announced that LINKIN PARK will headline the in-game soundtrack for Medal of Honor with "The Catalyst". The song is featured in an exclusive trailer directed by the band's Joe Hahn. The trailer, which can be viewed below, is a unique first-of-its-kind mix of live footage and intense modern military action from the Medal of Honor game.
LINKIN PARK will begin a European fall tour on October 20 in Berlin, wrapping up on November 11 in London. North American dates are yet to be announced.
